About this project

Nook NZ is a go to digital guide and resource hub for New Zealand parents, offering essential advice, local insights and support for families navigating the highs and lows of parenthood.

Founder Lexi Davey felt the brand had outgrown its original "local platform" aesthetic and wanted to transition Nook into a professional media brand. The challenge was to level up the visual identity to look more sophisticated and modern, without losing the signature warmth and relatability her community loves.

I gave the Nook brand a fresh, elevated look, focusing on:

  • Logo Refinement: Streamlining the original logo so it looks crisp and clear across both digital and print.

  • Visual Identity: Modernising the color palette and typography to strike that perfect "confident yet approachable" balance.

  • Social Media Kit: Designing a suite of custom Instagram templates so Lexi can easily drop in content and keep her feed looking consistent and engaging.

The result is a cohesive, polished brand presence that gives Nook a more "grown-up" media feel. It has given Lexi the visual confidence to scale her platform while keeping that deep, authentic connection with her parenting community.

Client feedback

"I came to Nicky wanting to quietly elevate Nook NZ from a local parenting platform into something that felt more like a professional media brand, without losing the warmth that makes it what it is. She just got it. The colour and font choices she recommended were exactly right. She was easy to work with, communicated clearly, and delivered quickly. The refresh has made such a difference to how the brand presents and I'm so glad I invested in it."
