About this project
Ian is a chef by trade and crafted a little-known Mexican condiment known as Salsa Macha into his brand known as 'Badger Macha' (Badger is Ian's nickname).
Ian had made his current jar label in Canva, this was fairly simple and didn't show any personality that existed within the brand. There was a clear need to elevate this so it could be sold in larger more boutique-style butchers and retailers.
After diving into the brand personality first with a quick questionnaire, the creative process was undertaken and concepts were presented. The successful one was the one that shows a bit of brand personality and has a clear contrast having a crisp white label against the fiery deep red of the product shown within. We barcoded the product to ensure it's ready to go for larger retailers as well so this new design can grow with the brand itself and eliminates the need for it to be redesigned.
Following up with Ian 6 months later Ian had this to say:
"I was receiving emails and messages from both customers and businesses asking when it was going to be available again which is great! To answer your question the packaging has definitely helped in a big big way! 100% It’s great 🙂"
