About this project

Brief

Build a standalone event site for Electrify Queenstown that clearly communicates the programme, speakers, exhibition/trade show, and “Electric Experiences,” with a smooth path to tickets and practical event info (venue, dates, FAQs, accessibility, sustainability). The 2026 event runs 17–19 May at the Queenstown Events Centre.

Approach
We structured the information architecture around attendee jobs: understand the event at a glance, explore talks/workshops, browse exhibitors and field trips, meet speakers, and plan attendance. Content was written to be scannable and action‑oriented, keeping users on‑site rather than bouncing to external documents. Sections like Programme, Speakers, Exhibition & Trade Show, Electric Experiences, Tickets, Sponsors, FAQs, Accessibility, and Sustainability provide clear wayfinding.

Build
Developed in Webflow with CMS collections for:

  • Speakers & facilitators (bios, roles, links).

  • Programme items (talks, workshops, exhibition, experiences) and schedule framing.

  • Exhibitors, sponsors, and updates (including highlights/archives for continuity year‑to‑year).

We also implemented event‑state messaging (e.g., “Tickets coming soon”) paired with an FAQ and social follow prompts, so the site supports pre‑sale through to live event without developer involvement.

Outcome

  • A focused, purpose‑built event hub with clear paths from “what is it?” to “see the schedule” to “get tickets.”

  • Reduced friction via concise programme overviews and speaker pages that highlight relevance and credibility.

  • Editor‑friendly CMS so the team can add sessions, speakers, exhibitors, and logistics updates quickly, including venue details and key dates.

What changed
From a generic web presence to an event‑ready platform that showcases the programme, people, and experiences—and equips attendees with everything they need to plan their trip to the Queenstown Events Centre, 17–19 May 2026.

Client feedback

Jono was instrumental in bringing our vision to life. What stood out was his ability to translate complex strategic content into a clear, engaging website that serves diverse stakeholders - from local businesses to visitors. His collaborative approach and problem-solving mindset made the entire process smooth and effective. I highly recommend Jono for any digital marketing or website build project requiring both technical expertise and strategic thinking.
