Building a trusted digital hub to support iwi engagement and registration
Ngāti Apakura is a Waikato-based iwi with responsibilities across governance, representation, and engagement with whānau.
Barlow Anderson, General Manager, came to me because the iwi needed a clear, credible digital presence to support engagement and increase iwi registrations, while ensuring messaging across leadership, presentations, and communications was consistent and trusted.
I built a central digital hub for Ngāti Apakura, designed to clearly explain who they are, what they do, and how whānau can connect. Alongside the website, I developed a full suite of communication templates — including board reports, presentation templates, and social media templates — to ensure consistency across formal and public-facing communications.
The outcome was a trusted, culturally grounded website that supports iwi registrations, strengthens engagement with whānau, and provides leaders with a clear, reliable source of truth.
